The firm was taken over by Günther Wildanger in 1967, one of the most experienced patent litigation attorneys in Germany who played a decisive role in establishing Düsseldorf as one of the world’s leading jurisdictions for patent and utility model litigation. The firm has since then grown and established itself firmly in its field of specialisation. It now comprises seven partners (Dr Roland Kehrwald, Wolf Graf v Schwerin, Peter-Michael Weisse LLM, Eva Geschke, Jörg Schmidt, Dr Soenke Fock LLM, Jasper Meyer zu Riemsloh LLM), each of whom can draw on many years experience in the area of intellectual property law. All lawyers are members of the German Association for Intellectual Property Protection and Copyright Law (GRUR) (Graf v Schwerin is also on the committee for patent and utility-model law), International Association for Intellectual Property Protection (AIPPI), European Patent Lawyers Association (EPLAW).

Main Areas of Practice:
The firm is active in all areas of intellectual property law, including copyrights, primarily in litigation. In cases relating to patents and utility models the firm also supports and represents its clients through opposition proceedings before the German and European Patent Offices as well as the Federal Patent Court (BPatG) and in nullity suits before the BPatG and Federal Supreme Court (BGH). Renowned companies, domestic and foreign, from practically all industrial sectors (including medical technology, genetic engineering, semi-conductor and computer technology, mechanical engineering) make up the firm’s clientele. Major proceedings, frequently on an international scale and with cross-border effect are taken on. Members of the firm are active as speakers at events at home and abroad and as authors in the relevant legal areas.
