The firm comprises 16 patent attorneys who are admitted to practice before the European Patent Office (EPO), the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO), Germany’s Federal Patent Court and the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM).

The legal team of UEXKÜLL & STOLBERG further comprises two attorneys-at-law (Rechtsanwälte) who are specialised in trademark matters. The firm employs over thirty full-time staff at its offices in Hamburg and Munich. The firm offers the full range of legal services in the field of intellectual property, including patent, utility model, trademark and industrial design prosecution before German and supranational institutions.

The firm’s patent attorneys have a broad technical and scientific background and are particularly active in the fields of chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and all areas of mechanical and electrical engineering. Attorneys are dedicated to providing counsel at the highest professional level and to ensuring the best possible protection for their client’s innovations. Because of the large number of clients with worldwide operations, the firm has established an extensive network with foreign associates who closely co-operate with the firm.

Patent opposition and infringement proceedings are a particularly important aspect of the firm’s business. Patent infringement cases before German regional courts are handled by the patent attorneys of UEXKÜLL & STOLBERG in close cooperation with local attorneys-at-law who are specialised in patent litigation.

The firm further has extensive experience in providing consultancy and advice in national patent infringement cases, as well as in the co-ordination of international patent infringement cases. Trademark infringement cases are handled by the firm’s experienced attorneys-at-law (Rechtsanwälte). The firm’s services also include trademark infringement and validity searches, and providing opinions and consultancy in licensing matters.
