Toby Eccleshall - Editor, Chambers and Partners
Before becoming Editor of the USA Guide in 2017, Toby was a researcher on the UK/USA team and then a USA Deputy Editor. He graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BA in German and Russian Studies, before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law. During his studies, he worked as an English teacher in a Moscow language school.
Corena Norris-McCluney - Labor & Employment Counsel, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP
Corena Norris-McCluney focuses her practice on labor and employment litigation and counseling. She is an experienced attorney and human resources advisor with strong reasoning and legal counseling skills in both law firm and corporate environments. Corena has an understanding of the practical aspects of the law as applied to business operations and the ability to work collaboratively with business divisions, while assessing the risks and legal framework. Prior to rejoining Kilpatrick Townsend, Corena was Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where she managed and supervised the company’s legal department, including the hiring and management of outside legal counsel, served as a member of the Company’s Senior Management Team, and advised and counseled on risks facing all areas of the global business. In addition, Corena served as Interim lead of the Company’s Human Resources Department in 2017.
Katie Barton - Labor & Employment Counsel, Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP
Katie Barton is a seasoned employment law counselor and litigator for clients throughout the United States. She strategically, efficiently, and practically solves employment-related challenges. Katie regularly counsels management on employment issues and trains managers and employees on a variety of employment topics. With her counseling, Katie helps clients reduce the risk of employment-related lawsuits and focus on their business. When disputes arise, however, Katie is an experienced and zealous advocate and litigator. Her litigation experience includes successfully representing management in employment litigation under Title VII, the FLSA, the ADEA, the ADA, and the FMLA, and before the EEOC and state civil rights agencies. Katie also has experience litigating, counseling clients on, and drafting restrictive covenants, non-compete agreements, and non-solicitation agreements. Katie lives in Atlanta with her husband (not a lawyer, thank goodness!), two sons, two cats, and a fish. When she has free time, you can find her on the tennis court or cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers.
Mark Johanson - Corporate Counsel, Mercedes-Benz USA
Mark Johanson is the Labor & Employment Counsel for Mercedes-Benz USA and its 27 offices across the United States. He started his legal career as a Labor & Employment associate at Ogletree Deakins and Paul Hastings in Atlanta. Before law school, he worked at Mazda North American Operations in sales, marketing, and service, where he even spent the occasional weekend helping out the motorsports team. Mark finds that this pre-law work experience in a large corporation, coupled with his MBA, gives him a big advantage in understanding the needs of his business partners in all of his company’s departments. Mark lives in Atlanta with his wife (also an in-house L&E lawyer), one-year-old daughter, and their two greyhounds. He loves all of Atlanta’s cursed sports teams, music, and going for a long swim.He has a BA, JD, and MBA from Emory University.
