Our transactional work encompasses mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, capital markets, structured finance and reinsurance transactions. Chicago’s Tim Farber, Ben Sykes and Paige Waters counsel clients on licensing/authorizing insurance companies and other entities; analyze regulatory issues in connection with transactional opportunities, and assist in responding to market conduct examinations. Co-Chair of the Regulatory & Transactional practice Jon Biasetti, resident in the Chicago office, is especially well known for working with our Health and Managed Care lawyers in structuring joint venture relationships between health insurers and large hospital systems.
Our Litigation team has extensive experience handling high-level disputes in virtually all lines of property and casualty and life and health reinsurance, in cases addressing late notice, transaction-related purchase price dispute, rescission/misrepresentation, coverage disputes, application of actuarial and statutory accounting principles, duty to disclose material change in risk, follow the fortunes, and other issues. Chair of the Reinsurance and Insurance Litigation group Nick DiGiovanni is resident in Chicago, along with a team of insurance litigators whose collective experience spans decades.
