Notable practitioners

Claudia Annacker recently joined the team from Cleary Gottlieb. She mostly handles ICSID and UNCITRAL arbitrations. She is highly sought after by European, African and Middle Eastern sovereign states and state-owned companies.

Department head Eduardo Silva Romero is "an extremely respected lawyer in France," according to clients. He is held in high regard for his ICSID cases expertise, especially acting for Latin American and Eastern European states. Interviewees note his longstanding presence in the market, saying: "He knows the arbitrators, he knows what the client will care about." He is dual-qualified in France and Colombia.

José Manuel Garcia Represa mostly focuses on investment arbitrations, often acting on cases with Latin American elements. You can feel it at the hearings, he has both a legal and strategic vision of the cases."

Philip Dunham enters the ranking this year and regularly represents clients in commercial cases before a wide range of tribunals, including LCIA, HKIAC and ICC. Sources commend his "incredible eye for detail and ability to crystallise the key arguments very well," and adding that he is "very personable and businesslike."
