Bracewell’s London project finance practice is focused on large-scale multi-sourced energy and infrastructure projects, many of which are “first-in country” or “first of a kind.” Our experienced team of project finance lawyers has advised on multi-billion dollar energy projects in jurisdictions across the globe.

Our team’s breadth and depth of project finance experience, as well as our experience in advising both borrowers and lenders on large cross-border project financings in emerging jurisdictions, gives us a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by all participants throughout the life cycle of a project financing.

Whilst we are best known for and continue to have a leading market position in financings, acquisitions and project developments in the oil and gas sector, Bracewell’s London office is also at the forefront of developments in renewable energy and sustainability. Even during economic challenges due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the London office worked on a number of high-profile transactions across the wind, solar, battery storage and carbon capture industries.

In one example, Bracewell advised the consortium comprising Marubeni Corporation and Al Jomaih Energy and Water Company on the development and financing of the Rabigh 300 MW solar PV IPP, which is part of the second round of the Saudi Arabian National Renewable Energy Program.
