Partner Lynne Gregory’s swearing-in strengthens the firm's team, presence and commitment to the British Virgin Islands (BVI).

Lynne Gregory is an experienced litigator with varied experience, including working for ‘Magic Circle’ law firm, Allen & Overy and as in-house counsel at a FTSE 250 company. She specialises in fraud and asset recovery, trust disputes, commercial and civil disputes as well as regulatory and insolvency work. She has been a Partner of the firm’s Jersey office since 2021. Most recently, Lynne has been working on the notorious 1MDB scandal described by the UK Guardian as the world’s biggest crime. Baker & Partners has acted as global counsel to the liquidators of the offshore structure used to launder the proceeds of this vast multi-jurisdictional fraud where some $9 billion were stolen from Malaysia through the purported sovereign wealth fund 1MDB and its sister company SRC.

On admission to the BVI Supreme Court, Lynne commented: “This is an exciting time for Baker & Partners. Since opening our office in the BVI last year, we’ve experienced significant growth and demand for our services in the Caribbean. It’s a privilege to be sworn in to the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court for the Territory of the Virgin Islands and I’m looking forward to working even more closely with Shaun, Mungo and Jodi-Ann to support and advise our clients and to act on their complex disputes, regulatory and insolvency matters.”

Lynne will be working closely with Baker & Partners BVI Partners Shaun Reardon-John and Mungo Lowe and Associate Jodi-Ann Stephenson. This expert team offers clients support with a range of complex cases and legal disputes, fraud and asset recovery matters, insolvencies and restructurings.
