Career

For more than 20 years, Martin has specialized in mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, corporate reorganizations, real estate, banking and finance, and disputes.

Martin has been providing advice on legal due diligence, transaction structuring, preparation of transaction documentation, as well as management and reorganisation of companies in Slovakia and the EU. He also advised private equity funds on their capital entry into Slovak companies, other acquisitions, restructuring, or exit from companies.

Before joining the MCL law firm, Martin worked for almost 9 years as a senior associate in the former Bratislava branch of White & Case, where he was co-responsible for the real estate, mergers and acquisitions and private equity departments. Later, as a partner, he co-managed the Bratislava branch of HAVEL & PARTNERS for 4 years.

In the field of energy, Martin represented the Slovak Republic in the negotiation of new conditions for the departure of a strategic partner ENEL from Slovenské elektrárne. He also advised banks on acquisitions of leasing companies. Martin provided comprehensive legal advice to several foreign manufacturing corporations in their investments in the green field in Slovakia, also in their corporate reorganisations, as well as in the implementation of the decision of the management of foreign corporations on the transfer of production capacities outside the territory of the Slovak Republic. In the field of commercial real estate, Martin represented international and local clients in acquisitions and sales of the largest shopping centers, office buildings and logistics complexes in the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic.

Martin has been rated as a leading lawyer in the field of mergers and acquisitions and real estate in international publications such as Legal500. Clients praise his negotiation skills and pro-client oriented work commitment.
