Recent experience:

  • Advised the founder shareholder in the sale of a majority stake in Mac Global to Sony Music Entertainment, whereby, Sony acquired a controlling stake in Mac Global, while the founder shareholders continued to undertake day-today management.
  • Successfully defended Octavia Limited, in a high-profile case filed by Astalia Investment Limited before the Dubai Courts, regarding a dispute over the ownership of Mining Company Katanga in the DRC, with a claim value of USD 70 million
  • Acted as DIFC counsel for UOG, a large shipping company in the acquisition of a DIFC Holding Company, United Arab Chemical Carriers. This transaction was the first of its kind in the DIFC as the acquisition was made by way of a reverse triangular merger, a first under the new DIFC Companies Law
  • Assisting Total Energies to better facilitate their desired corporate structure, including advising on all legal matters related to restructuring
  • Advised National Bank of Oman in respect of a USD 175 million restructuring of Zubair Group and its subsidiaries. This is one of the region's largest restructuring transactions and involved multiple local and international banks to restructure the debt of Zubair Group and its entities
  • Provided Meta with a legal analysis, breaking down the degree of risk posed to the Facebook platform for violations of Advertising Guidelines under applicable laws in the UAE and Saudi Arabia
