Lloyd Hand is a senior counsel in the Government Advocacy practice. He provides counsel to U.S. Fortune 500 companies, foreign governments and institutional clients regarding legislative, administrative, regulatory and international trade issues, as well as contract negotiations relating to defense and aerospace matters. Mr. Hand began his government career in 1957 as assistant to Senate Majority Leader Lyndon B. Johnson. When Mr. Johnson became president, Lloyd served as his U.S. chief of protocol, bearing the rank of ambassador.
Mr. Hand served as a member of the Senior Advisory Group (SAG) to the U.S. European Command, and formerly served on the Chief of Naval Operations Executive Panel; Executive Council on Diplomacy; Council on Foreign Relations; Council of American Ambassadors; and Vice Chairman, The Washington Roundtable, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
