Career

Katja studied law in Hamburg and Utrecht with a particular focus on regulatory and planning law. Katja then worked as a research assistant in Hamburg and Bonn. She completed her legal training at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court. This period also included stages at the Düsseldorf Administrative Court, the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety in Bonn and at a major international law firm. In 2017, she completed her master’s degree at Nottingham Trent University, UK.

Katja specialises in environmental, planning, regulatory, administrative and constitutional law (including litigation). She provides support for project developers during complex approval procedures, particularly in the energy and transport sectors, advising on all phases of infrastructure projects. Katja also has special expertise in nuclear law. Before POSSER SPIETH WOLFERS & PARTNERS was founded, she was a principal associate in the public law department at the Düsseldorf office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP. She speaks German and English.
