Vivian has been involved in many notable matters which include matters relating to collisions, oil pollution, marine casualties, international trade, ship repair and construction, cargo claims, charterparty disputes, mortgage enforcement, death, personal injury and insolvency

In 2019, Vivian was recognised as a Senior Accredited Specialist in Maritime and Shipping Law by the Singapore Academy of Law. She is also an arbitrator on the panel of the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitrators.

Vivian graduated at the top of her class in 1980 from the National University of Singapore with an LL.B. (Hons) degree and holds a Masters in Maritime Law from the University of Wales. She joined Allen & Gledhill as a Partner in 1989.

Advisory Board of the Centre for Maritime Law. Member of the Maritime Law Association of Singapore, Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitrators, and Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association. Associate Mediator, Singapore Mediation Centre. Vice-Chair, IBA Maritime and Transport Law Committee (2008 to 2012).
