IP is the main international areas of practice of the firm. As is known, there is getting more and more competition in the world. To be outstanding from the vast competing peers, each firm should have its own surviving features. The firm’s survival skills are founded on cultivating abilities of their colleagues to provide competent or incomparable services. The firm uniquely show their competence by the following offers, e.g. 1) sending the firm a pending or granted patent for their comments as to how the firm can improve the claims, 2) sending the firm a pending patent specification without the claims for the firm to draft the claims for the client's comparison with the original claims, or 3) sending to the firm and the current firm the client is at the same time an initial disclosure so that the client can compare and find out which firm can provide the better claims.

As to the firm’s legal department, although the world is such diversified that each field needs much competence and knowledge, the firm uses the same mindset as the IP department for providing their services. The legal department mainly focuses services in corporate matters and family laws. All the partners and fee earners are all based in Taipei. It is interesting to note that the firm uses a few Mainland Chinese firms as their branches because the firm has in the past sent them more than 7,000 patent applications while the Chinese firms just fully follow their instructions to represent the clients before SIPO.
