Capital Markets & Structured Finance: The firm’s top class capital markets and structured finance team is highly experienced in securitisation, listing and other structured finance work. It advises on some of the most innovative transactions executed in the market. The team of specialist lawyers provides the highest quality service to blue chip clients and an extensive network of contacts at leading international law firms and other intermediaries worldwide.
Investment Funds & Private Equity: This group provides expert legal advice on the formation of funds and other investment structures (including investment syndicates, club deals, joint ventures and managed accounts), regulation and transactional and other ongoing advice. It acts for fund managers, administrators, banks and investors in all aspects of investment fund work.
Banking & Corporate: Advice is provided to many banks with a presence in the Channel Islands, and legal opinions are provided to banks investment houses and multinationals globally. This group also advises on elements of international M&A transactions, joint venture arrangements, shareholders’ agreements/arrangements and acquisitions/disposals of Channel Island companies.
Insurance: This group provides advice on all aspects of the Channel Islands insurance markets including insurance, reinsurance, captives, PCCs, ICCs and segregated cell companies. The group has some of the leading practitioners in the field and regularly contributes to publications on cutting edge changes to the law, as well as having considerable experience in advising leading companies in this sector.
International Private Client: This group is probably the largest of its kind in the Channel Islands, providing specialist trust and related corporate law advice to individual and institutional clients on wealth preservation and management, employee and executive share incentive schemes, bespoke trust drafting, the restructuring of assets held in trust and advice to fiduciaries.
Regulatory & Compliance: This group is focused on advising local and international clients on the regulatory and compliance issues arising from their operations in the Channel Islands.
Litigation: The firm’s litigation group is one of the largest in the Channel Islands. A full range of litigation and dispute resolution services is provided but particular growth has taken place in contentious trust and regulatory work. Other key work areas include banking, insolvency and asset tracing.
Commercial & Residential Property: The firm advises on a wide range of Jersey property and private client matters. This team’s expertise extends to matters relating to planning, regulation, licensing and construction law.
Employment: The group practises all employment related fields including contentious and non-contentious employment, discrimination and regulatory law. It also advises on implementing cultural change.
Wills & Probate: This team offers comprehensive private client advice to individuals and their families and advises on the most effective legal structures available for managing wealth.
