Litigation:

■Steves & Sons in winning a groundbreaking antitrust jury trial challenging a consummated merger in which the jury awarded $58 million in damages and court-ordered divestiture of an acquired manufacturing facility.
■Members of the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (the six member studios of the MPAA, along with Amazon and Netflix) in obtaining a stipulated judgment and permanent injunction against TickBox for inducing infringement of their movies and television shows
■Versace in obtaining summary judgment and a permanent injunction in a case against Versace 19.69 Abbgliamento Sportivo, an unrelated company, alleging trademark infringement and unfair competition claims
■Disney, Lucasfilm and Marvel in obtaining a preliminary injunction against Redbox regarding its unauthorized sale of digital codes sold in DVD “Combo Packs”
■University of California in obtaining a favorable settlement ending a First Amendment lawsuit filed by conservative organizations alleging unlawful discrimination against conservative speech at UC Berkeley
■Garda in winning summary adjudication against armored car driver-messengers who brought meal period and overtime claims in a series of consolidated putative class action lawsuits
■Wells Fargo in obtaining dismissal of claims brought by the Navajo Nation alleging the bank targeted members of the tribe to open bank accounts without customer consent

Appellate:
Appellate lawyers at Munger Tolles have argued hundreds of cases in courts of appeals across the country in cutting-edge areas of commercial and business law, patent law, international law, foreign affairs matters and California’s unfair competition law. Highlights include representing:
■American Express in a US Supreme Court victory in a lawsuit brought by 17 states and the US Department of Justice alleging that the credit card company’s merchant contracts are anti-competitive
■CompPartners in winning an appeal before the California Supreme Court in a case with major implications for the scope of the exclusive remedy of California workers’ compensation law
■British production company ITV in winning an appellate victory against Scott and Deirdre Gurneys, co-creators of “Duck Dynasty” and other programs, in a lawsuit over control of Gurney Productions
■Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority in an appeal that upheld the lower court’s ruling against the Archdiocese of Washington, which challenged WMATA’s commercial advertising policies banning issue-oriented ads

Munger Tolles’ corporate practice includes mergers and acquisitions, private equity and investment advice, corporate finance and corporate governance counseling. Significant transactions include representing:
■KB Home on the issuance of $400 million of senior notes
■Berkshire Hathaway on the issuance and sale of $1.25 billion 4.25% investment grade senior notes offering due 2049
