Anwälte Burger und Partner: The head office of ABP in Windischgarsten/Austria was founded in 2008. In recent years, ABP has built further offices to cover the whole German-speaking market. The branch office in Vienna is headed by cooperation partner Sabine Mahringer, attorney at law. With the foreign desk in Munich, headed by partner Dr Katarina Casals Ide, ABP has a direct link to the European Patent Office to handle clients’ issues personally and faster. Another foreign desk is located in Zurich.

Since its foundation, the main area of practice has been intellectual property. ABP consists of a large, synchronised and experienced team of attorneys at law, co-operating patent attorneys, searchers and technical engineers (in total more than 40 employees). One major goal of ABP is the synchronisation of know-how and experience among the practitioners in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The practitioners discuss recent cases and developments in the legal systems frequently. This allows a deep insight into the different systems and enables ABP to provide comprehensive counselling for each client.

Managing partner and attorney at law Dr Hannes Burger has specialised in intellectual property rights for many years and is nationally and internationally active in prosecution as well as litigation regarding the field of IP. He has experience in IP-related negotiations (eg contract negotiations) not only in Europe, but also in Asia and the USA. Dr Burger’s special focus is on national and international patent law as well as related legal and technical disputes.

Partner since foundation of ABP and attorney at law Dr Clemens Ofner has specialised in intellectual property rights for many years and is also nationally and internationally active in prosecution as well as litigation regarding the field of IP. His special focus is on Austrian, European and international trademarks, design, copyright, domain and competition law, IP contracts and the monitoring of IP rights.

Partner and attorney at law Dr Katarina Casals Ide has a special focus on Austrian, European and international patents, trademarks, design and competition law; IP-related contracts, particularly in the fields of IP and know-how transfer, research and development, confidentiality and licensing; prosecution and enforcement in Asian countries in close cooperation with local partners.
