Funds:
The firm’s funds department was established in 2010 and is dedicated to Gibraltar’s rapidly growing funds industry. With the introduction of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) in July 2013, choices of specialist funds jurisdictions within the EU are limited and the focus has shifted to the regulation of fund managers and the manner in which funds are distributed and marketed. With the changes AIFMD is bringing, Gibraltar is now being considered as an ideal EU funds jurisdiction and Gibraltar is now being considered as a domicile of choice along with the more traditional EU funds jurisdictions such as Luxembourg, Ireland and Malta. Attias & Levy’s funds team advises funds managers on the establishment or redomiciliation and structuring of funds and also on establishing a presence in Gibraltar themselves. The firm is dedicated to providing an independent legal advice, upholds the highest standards and works closely with other independent funds service providers to provide a quality and bespoke service. The funds team places great importance on compliance with Gibraltar’s regulatory regime and high standard of corporate governance. Experienced investor funds, private funds and UCITS funds comprise the types of fund vehicles which Gibraltar offers through a variety of legal entities including limited liability companies, public companies and protected cell companies.
