It offers a wide range of specialist services with 19 Law Society of Scotland accredited specialists, an Advocacy & Legal Opinions Unit with seven Solicitor Advocates and cross-border working with 11 dual-qualified solicitors. The firm has regularly been recognised for its legal expertise. In 2018 the firm won Litigation Team of the Year at the Scottish Legal Awards. In 2017 and in 2016 its solicitors Dominic Scullion and Sara Jalicy won the Rising Star of the Year award. The firm has also previously won Public Sector Team of the Year. Anderson Strathern reported a turnover at £21.5m as of 31st August 2017.
Anderson Strathern’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and being the legal employer of choice has also been recognised over many years. The firm is celebrating 20 years as an Investor In People (IIP) and was the first law firm to achieve the double success of IIP and Investors in Young People Gold accreditations. In 2017 the firm was reaccredited IIP Gold for a further three years. The firm’s focus on the development and management of all of its employees was recognised with winning Employer of the Year at the Scottish Legal Awards in 2016. Alongside this, the firm became one of the first law firms in Scotland to become an accredited living wage employer and to sign the Scottish Government’s Business Pledge. Anderson Strathern’s involvement in CSR was recognised when the firm won Responsible Business of the Year at the Chamber of Commerce awards.

RECRUITMENT Over the last year, has continued its growth through lateral hires and has seen the appointments of Alan Simpson, renewable energy industry stalwart, as Consultant from Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie, Sarah McKinlay, highly regarded private client lawyer, appointed as Consultant from the former HBJ Gateley now Addleshaw Goddard and Iain Grieve a highly experienced lawyer in commercial real estate from HBJ.
Internally, two new partners were appointed and nine solicitors were promoted.
