Adam Blakemore is a partner in Cadwalader’s London Tax Group. He advises on the taxation aspects of structuring domestic and cross-border corporate and financing transactions with particular interest in the structuring and restructuring of regulated and unregulated investment funds and private equity financings and investments. He has advised on a wide range of financing transactions, including securitisations, hybrid capital issuances, repackagings, credit linked instruments, stock lending arrangements and a variety of financial products.
Adam is admitted to practice in England and Wales. He is a member of the ISDA UK Tax Committee.
Prior to joining Cadwalader, Adam was at Allen & Overy LLP. Prior to practicing as a solicitor, he was a senior Inspector with HM Revenue and Customs.
Adam is co-author of the volumes on 'Loan Relationships' (2009), 'Derivatives Contracts' (2009) and 'Securitisations' (2012), CCH Wolters Kluwer British Tax Reporter series, co-author of 'The Handbook of Insurance – Linked Securities' ('The UK Taxation Treatment of Insurance Linked Securities'), Wiley/London School of Economics, ed. L Albertini and P. Barrieu. He has published extensively in numerous taxation periodicals.
Adam graduated from the University of Leeds and studied at The College of Law in York.
