Athanasia has vast experience in structuring, drafting, negotiating and advising on the feasibility and implementation of international financial transactions, including on security and hedging arrangements. She has been working on the legal and regulatory aspects of the development of a secondary market of non-performing loans in the portfolios of Greek banks and has been involved in most transactions of this type in the Greek market. Athanasia has significant experience in advising corporates and international and domestic credit and financial institutions on financial restructurings and insolvency proceedings. Her clients include all the major banks and financial institutions active in the Greek market and she has acted in innovative and groundbreaking deals which have paved the way for future transactions in the banking sector. She recently advised doBank on the servicing platform to be established for non-performing SME exposures of the four systemic Greek banks. She is currently advising Apollo Global Management in respect of the acquisition by a consortium of Apollo funds and IFC of a mixed pool of c€1bn NPLs and c€56m repossessed real estate assets from the Alpha Bank group.
