David is an extradition barrister of significant experience, representing Requested Persons wanted in both Part 1 and Part 2 jurisdictions. He has considerable expertise in prison conditions, particularly across Europe and appeared in the leading cases in Bulgaria (Kirchanov & Others [2017] EWHC 1285 (Admin)) and Lithuania (Aleksynas & Others [2014] EWHC 437 (Admin)). David has been instructed in a number of other leading cases including on Double Jeopardy, led by Helen Malcolm QC (Kulibaba v USA [2014] EWHC 176 (Admin)), Forum, led by David Josse QC (Atraskevic v Lithuania [2016] 1 W.L.R. 2762) and section 12A, led by David Perry QC before the Lord Chief Justice (Puceviciene and Others [2016] 1 W.L.R. 4937). He has been involved in Judicial Review proceedings in an extradition context both led and alone (Augusciak v Poland [2014] EWHC 420 (Admin) and R (Tarabanovs) v WMC [2015] EWHC 3641 (Admin). He has also successfully appeared alone before the Divisional Court in a leading authority on the evidential burden in extradition proceedings Jankowski v Poland [2016] EWHC 3792 (Admin). In addition, David’s expertise in sports, particularly football, means he is increasingly instructed to represent professional sportspeople and those in the sports industry faced with extradition.
