Chambers UK ranks the best lawyers and law firms handling all aspects of non-contentious real estate work relating to both commercial and residential property, including investment transactions, development, corporate structuring, acquisitions, portfolio management, and landlord and tenant matters. These rankings do not take into account contentious real estate work or real estate finance as these are considered separately.
As the largest and most active market we cover, our London rankings are designed to reflect the depth and variety of work being handled by solicitors at all levels. Firms are therefore ranked in one of three sub-tables depending on numerous factors, including transactional values.
The Lower Mid-Market rankings focus on those firms handling transactions averaging between £10-50 million. They may take on development work on a smaller scale, often residential-led. Many will be most frequently involved in leasing transactions and the management of smaller or more regional portfolios. We also take into account firms who may specialise in handling real estate work for clients in particular sectors, such as healthcare, education or charities.
We do not rank individual solicitors in the Lower Mid-Market table at present: lawyers at these firms will instead be included alongside those in the Mainly Mid-Market category.
