Practice Areas

Tim Engel focuses on energy, antitrust and complex commercial litigation matters. As senior counsel in the firm's Government and Regulatory practices, he also represents clients in related investigations and regulatory matters.

Tim represents clients in matters ranging from upstream oil and gas royalties to downstream refined product antitrust issues. In regulatory matters, he advises clients on royalty, exploration and production permitting and leasing. He regularly represents clients before the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, the Office of Natural Resources Revenue, and the Interior Board of Land Appeals.

Along with publishing articles on a variety of energy-related topics, Mr. Engel serves as antitrust counsel to a major energy trade association and has represented clients in investigations before the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission.
