Stuart Fleischmann is a partner in Shearman & Sterling’s Capital Markets group and spends time in both the New York and São Paulo offices. He regularly represents underwriters and issuers on a wide range of SEC-registered, 144A/Regulation S and private placements of debt and equity securities.
He has a strong foothold in the region, most notably handling: the first SEC offering by a Latin American bank for Banco de Galicia in Argentina; the largest equity offering ever for Petrobras, in its $69 billion offering; multiple issuances of so-called “Green Bonds” by Latin-American financial institutions and the first ever by a Latin American sovereign nation for the Republic of Chile; a record $40 billion consent solicitation for Pemex, the largest Chilean IPO recently for Cencosud Shopping S.A., among other groundbreaking matters.
In addition to his extensive work in Latin America, he also extends his professional commitment to the region while serving as the Director of the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce, the North American-Chilean Chamber of Commerce and the International Executive Service Corps, established by David Rockefeller.
