Scott served as the firm’s Managing Partner from 2011 to 2021. He has an active practice focused on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, private equity investments, and contests for corporate control.

Scott has represented many of the firm’s private equity clients such as Warburg Pincus, SCF Partners, and Pine Brook Road Partners for more than a decade, and has also represented many public companies, including several Fortune 500 companies, with respect to corporate governance advice and equity and debt offerings. He has represented clients in all aspects of the energy industry and has also achieved success for clients in a broad range of other industries, including financial services, aviation, and manufacturing.

Scott serves as a Trustee of The University of Texas Law School Foundation, a Trustee and Chair of the Risk Management & Insurance Committee of Texas Children’s Hospital and a Governing Director of the Houston Symphony.

Scott is a member of the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Executive Committee.
