Practice Areas

Rubin is a partner in the Stephenson Harwood finance team, he represents lenders and borrowers on major financings. His practice has tended to focus on developing markets, particularly the countries of the Former Soviet Union and has encompassed project finance, restructurings, debt finance, acquisition finance and real estate finance.

His sectoral experience includes oil and gas (upstream, midstream and downstream), mining and metals, power and general infrastructure. Recent transactions of note include representing Interpipe on the consensual restructuring of its $1 billion debt portfolio, representing a Russian bank on its circa $500 million project financing of a petrochemical facility in Azerbaijan and representing SUEK on its syndicated pre-export financings (in amounts in excess of $1 billion).
