For over 35 years, I’ve specialised in compensation claims for individuals who’ve suffered injury in an accident at work or developed an occupational illness. I’ve dealt with claims for accidents across a wide range of industries as diverse as mining, construction, manufacturing and the health service. I have a particular interest in dealing with occupational disease claims, particularly for respiratory conditions including mesothelioma and other asbestos related disease claims. I’ve dealt with claims for occupational asthma and have extensive experience dealing with claims for other diseases like VWF and RSI.
I also have considerable experience of dealing with group litigation. I played a leading role in the Claimants’ Solicitors Coordinating Group in the British Coal Vibration White Finger Litigation. After the successful litigation, negotiations took place which led to the establishment of a Claims Handling Arrangement (CHA), that successfully resolved over 175,000 cases.
I was also one of a small number of solicitors forming the Claimants’ Solicitors Coordinating Group in the British Coal Respiratory Disease Litigation.
I am accredited by the APIL as a Fellow and as an Asbestos Disease Specialist, as an Occupational Disease Specialist and as a Fatal Accident Specialist.
Member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel.
