Robert is a partner in Freshfields’ New York office specializing in the US taxation of corporate, private equity and structured finance transactions, with particular focus on cross-border transactions. He also advises on tax issues in insolvency and has experience advising Swiss and other non-US financial institutions on US tax-related investigations and compliance matters.
Robert has been a partner since 1999.
Robert currently teaches international tax at Columbia Law School and has previously served as Chair of the NY State Bar Association Tax Section and as Associate Tax Legislative Counsel at the US Treasury Department.
