Raquel heads up the spinal injury department. She represents clients who sustain spinal injury due to substandard medical treatment or as a result of traumatic accident. Raquel draws on her legal reputation and personal experience to frequently achieve seven figure settlements, often where liability or causation is denied throughout. Raquel works closely with her clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure their complex needs are well met so that they are fully supported whilst they rebuild their life post-injury.
Raquel undertook her training at Bindmans from 2006-08. Raquel moved to Bolt Burdon Kemp in 2008 where she completed her training to qualify in 2008. Raquel became a partner in 2016.
Trustee and past Vice-Chair - Spinal Injuries Association Senior Litigator - Association of Personal Injury Lawyers Raquel was a Patient Representative on a specialist panel tasked with developing and drafting NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) Guidelines on pressure ulcers (published April 2014). Raquel is a recognised and respected speaker on issues surrounding spinal cord injury and is frequently invited to lecture and speak on a variety of issues to the national media and press.
