Peter has over 45 years’ experience within his field, 35 of which have been gained in private practice and 12 years with an international civil engineering organisation (which also involved marine works). He is well versed in all contentious forums, whether adjudication, arbitration or litigation, mediation - for claimants and/or defendants - and matters of professional indemnity impacting on claims for and/or against construction professionals.
Peter’s philosophy is that direct negotiation and/or mediation often resolves disputes in a time and cost effective manner. A ‘can do will do’ approach is taken.
Internationally, Peter has focused more on the non-contentious side of major FIDIC contracts from tender stage to monitoring of projects once a tender was secured, but has also handled and concluded various contentious matters.
Peter also specialises in general non-contentious work, including the preparation of, and advice on, all forms of standard (and bespoke) building construction and engineering contracts. Contract forms include FIDIC, ICE, NEC, JCT, GC works. This work also includes deeds of appointment, bonds, guarantees and collateral warranties.
