Peter Kang is an IP trial lawyer. He is the senior Silicon Valley-based Partner in the Firm’s nationally ranked IP Litigation practice group. He is also the IP lead for the firm’s Korea practice and current President of the International Association of Korean Lawyers Foundation. His most recent trial victory was a complete defense verdict as lead counsel in a patent jury trial in California, including a post-trial award of over $4.6 million in fees and costs for his client. In addition to trials in district courts and the ITC, Peter represents clients before the Patent Trial & Appeal Board, including a victory in the first ever IPR to reach final judgment. He handles appeals to the Federal Circuit and appears in courts nationwide, as well as in international and domestic arbitrations and mediations involving IP, licensing, or technology disputes. Peter also represents clients in trade secret matters, as well as high-tech antitrust, commercial litigation, and copyright/trademark suits. In transactional matters, he negotiates for clients in high-stakes IP licensing/acquisition deals and technology transactions, and advises on IP diligence for M&A and financing deals. A #1 ranked author, he travels extensively to represent clients worldwide, including Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and China.
