Paul Lewis is a capital markets partner with a particular specialism in derivatives and structured securities. He covers a wide range of asset classes and products, with focus on collateral and custody structures, fund-linked derivatives, fund financing, repackagings and structured notes and securities issuance platforms.
Paul is also currently Global Co-head of Innovation for Linklaters and advises on a range of fintech matters. He is currently advising a number of consortia on various distributed ledger technology and smart contract initiatives and is heavily involved in the development by Linklaters of various legal A.I. tools.
Paul was responsible for developing next-generation repackaging programmes post-Lehman (so called ‘Repack 2.0’) and was involved in the establishment of SPIRE, an innovative multi-dealer repackaging platform.
He was the lead author of the joint ISDA and Linklaters paper on smart contracts, “Smart Contracts and Distributed Ledger – A Legal Perspective” and has participated in numerous seminars and working groups on these areas.
