Paul A Turner

Practice Areas

Paul has long experience of working with custom builders, owners and their family offices, designers and managers of mega-yachts on letters of intent, construction contracts, refit contracts, design contracts, management agreements and financing arrangements. During the last 13 years he has worked on projects for the construction of 17 of the largest yachts built in Europe.

Paul also works extensively in the cruise ship and residential ship sector where he represents many of the leading cruise brands and advises them on their shipbuilding contracts, conversion and refit contracts, financing arrangements, management agreements and other operating arrangements.

Career

Paul graduated from Peterhouse, Cambridge with a 1st in Law.

He worked for Clifford Chance LLP in Hong Kong and London - first as an associate and then as a Partner - from 1982 to 2008, and as a Partner at Clyde & Co LLP in London from 2008 to 2019.

Paul joined Hannaford Turner LLP as a Partner in February 2019.

Publications

Since 1993 Paul has been a co-author and editor of Ship Sale and Purchase, a leading shipping law text book.

He also contributes to maritime industry journals and gives presentations at maritime industry events.
