Career

Paul is Chair of Brouse McDowell's Insurance Recovery Practice. He is an experienced business litigator focusing in particular on cases concerning complex insurance coverage disputes. He often assists clients in obtaining insurance recoveries without resorting to litigation. Paul has counseled policyholders in leading insurance coverage cases in Ohio and other states, including GenCorp v. Aetna Casualty & Surety Company, Uniroyal Goodrich v. Home Insurance Company, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company v. Aetna Casualty & Surety Company, and The B.F. Goodrich Company v. Commercial Union Insurance Company. He has appeared on behalf of policyholder amicus curiae parties in many cases and has served as an expert witness on Ohio insurance coverage law, testifying in the High Court of Justice in London.

He has practiced in trial and appellate courts throughout Ohio and other states and the Ohio Supreme Court and has appeared in various federal courts, including the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Paul previously was president of the Scanlon Inn of Court and is certified as a Specialist in Insurance Coverage Law by the Ohio State Bar Association.
