Mike Canan, with over 45 years' experience, focuses his practice on all phases of qualified retirement plan work, with emphasis on the establishment and maintenance of ESOPs; ERISA compliance and plan design; controlled group and affiliated service group issues; IRS and Department of Labor administrative problem resolution; and nonqualified deferred compensation.
Further, Mike has also been involved in numerous IRS audits regarding retirement plans and other employee benefits, including tax promoter audits regarding employee benefit matters. He has also done considerable work with employers with regard to health plans under the Affordable Care Act, and has written a book on the subject.
Mike is licensed in both California and Florida, and has been Florida board certified in Tax Law since 1983.
