He is a leading expert in art and cultural property; with over 40 years of experience he was awarded a CBE for his services to law and the arts. Mark's expertise includes looted art and cultural property such as recovery claims and defences and advice on claims arising out of agency disputes, alleged forgeries and other authenticity issues. His advice is actively sought by auction houses, galleries, artists and HNWIs.
Mark also specialises in reputation management, helping clients in the public eye, or with particular reputational sensitivities or privacy requirements, to deal with issues such as libel, defamation, privacy and data protection, blackmail and harassment both domestically and internationally. His priority is to avoid unwanted media and public interest for clients.
Mark has a wealth of experience of trusts litigation, particularly offshore trusts.
