Co-founder and partner at ENVIR Advocaten. Marieke Kaajan specializes in nature conservation law (protection of Natura 2000 areas and protected species), spatial planning, environmental law (Seveso/Brzo, PGS, mining, REACH, waste, soil, noise, odour, energy, water) and general administrative law.
Marieke Kaajan’s practice includes litigation and advice for large development projects such as windparks, power plants and industrial sites and litigation and advice on zoning plans. Her clients include developers, businesses and government bodies.
Marieke Kaajan regularly publishes and lectures on nature conservation and environmental law. She co-authored a book on nature conservation law in 2017, the Kluwer publication “Tekst and commentaar” on the Act on Nature Conservation and she is a permanent annotator of the Dutch Journal of Environmental Law.
Marieke Kaajan is a board member of the Dutch Construction Law Association and a deputy judge at the East-Brabant district court, sector administrative law.
