Practice Areas

María René is a senior associate at PPO, and she develops her activities in the Corporate Law and Public Law teams.

In the Corporate & Commercial area, she provides legal counseling to local and foreign clients in a wide range of industries in relation to corporate and commercial matters, especially with respect to the incorporation of commercial companies and good corporate governance, as well as the preparation and review of complex commercial contracts. Additionally, she habitually participates in important corporate transactions with a local and trans-border impact, starting off with the conduction of due diligence and up to the review of transactional documents governed by Bolivian and foreign laws.

Within the regulatory area, she has vast experience in the banking and stock exchange areas as well as in the insurance industry. To this effect, she has participated in registration processes for banks and insurance and reinsurance companies before the Financial System`s Oversight Authority (ASFI) and the Pensions Authority (APS), as well as the defense of clients in administrative processes filed by different Regulators.

Career

Graduated with honors from Universidad Privada de Santa Cruz de la Sierra and obtained a Master's Degree in Tax Regulation from CTO Business School of Madrid.
