International trade and Customs and Competition
Lucas is a full associate in the International Trade and Competition law Practices of Pinheiro Neto Advogados, which he joined in 2017. Lucas has experience in trade remedies and safeguard cases (in Brazil and abroad), tariff discussions, matters relating to WTO and MERCOSUR law, as well as merger review proceedings and cartel investigations. Lucas also has experience in litigation and arbitration involving economic and competition law issues.
Brazilian Institute of Studies in Competition, Consumption and International Trade – IBRAC, the main Brazilian association of competition and international trade law practioners. Also a member of the network Latin American Climate Lawyers Initiative for Mobilizing Action – LACLIMA.
Lucas earned his bachelor’s degree in Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo in 2017, with a partial formation at the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris – Sciences Po Paris. Lucas has published articles and book chapters on international trade, competition law and international arbitration. He has also coached university students for international moot court competitions such as the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. Lucas is currently an LL.M. candidate at Columbia University.
