Linda Strudwick specialises in serious crime. An outstanding leading junior barrister, she both prosecutes and defends in cases of murder, manslaughter, serious fraud and serious drug offences.
Linda is particularly sought-after for her expertise in serious, often historic, sexual offences. She is a specialist rape prosecutor and a Category 4 CPS prosecutor. Linda is often engaged pre-charge for both defence and prosecution to either stop a case in its early stages or advise on the strength of a prosecution.
Her work often involves media interest and high-profile individuals: she defended a Dutch beach volley ball champion accused of coming to the UK to meet and rape a 13-year-old girl; represented a TV presenter against allegations concerning indecent images; and was lead counsel for the defence in the first Newcastle Asian grooming case.
Linda’s specialist criminal skillset is in demand in the professional regulatory field, and she has vast experience of advising and representing both prosecuting authorities and defendants pre-charge through to trial and beyond, at appeal.
She has experience in the General Medical Council/Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (GMC/MPTS), General Dental Council (GDC), Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) and General Social Care Council (GSCC).
