LT Lafferty’s practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, corporate internal investigations, False Claims Act (FCA) qui tam litigation, and corporate compliance and ethics. He’s a former Assistant U.S. Attorney with 10 years of criminal and civil experience including the Office of Independent Counsel and as an ethics advisor to the Office of the Counsel to the President. He has served as a Commissioner on the Florida Commission on Ethics. The Best Lawyers in America recognized him as the Tampa Corporate Compliance Lawyer of the Year for 2016 and he is certified in healthcare compliance (CHC) by the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) and is certified is a certified compliance and ethics professional with the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE). LT clerked for the Honorable John H. Moore, II, Chief Judge of the United States District Court, Middle District Court of Florida (1993-1995) and received his juris doctorate (J.D.) cum laude from Stetson University College of Law in 1992 graduating #3 in his class. LT was conferred the Walter Mann award for demonstrating the greatest promise of becoming an outstanding leader in the legal profession and 2005 was the Student Bar Association’s Adjunct Professor of the Year.
