Karlijn Teuben has been an attorney at Pels Rijcken since 2004. She specialises in Supreme Court litigation and other complex litigation. She mainly focuses on issues of liability, compensation and insurance (also in the field of health insurance), and on disputes concerning issues of international law (international public law, private international law and human rights). Her clients include a number of Dutch ministries, insurance companies and other listed and non-listed companies. Karlijn is considered a leading expert in the field of procedural law: she had a PhD in Dutch civil procedural law and lectures and publishes frequently. Together with Willem Heemskerk, she is co-author of the standard guide to Dutch procedural law Hugenholtz/Heemskerk “Hoofdlijnen van Nederlands burgerlijk procesrecht” (Headlines of Dutch Procedural Law) 2018 and of the handbook on new Dutch procedural legislation “Kort begrip van KEI”, published in August 2016. Karlijn is a member of the Board of the Association of Supreme Court lawyers.
