Specialised for over 30 years in commercial conveyancing with a special focus on RSL work. Lead partner in commercial projects involving complex development sites (acquisition/disposal/site assembly work) and property related contracts including negotiation of contracts amongst RSLs and developer “partners”. Has co-ordinated and dealt with all conveyancing requirements of RSLs, including security/refinancing related conveyancing and management issues that arise in mixed tenure estates. Advises on full range of title matters, including deeds of real burdens, deeds of conditions and development management schemes, servitudes, planning agreements and licences to occupy. Other areas of expertise: mortgage to rent, new supply shared equity and shared ownership transactions plus the sale/purchase and leasing of commercial property (offices, shops and factory units).
•Refinancing exercise in respect of a mixture of estates and pepper-potted stock for an RSL client.
•Advising RSL client regarding various aspects of major regeneration site.
•Supervision of substantial shared ownership case load for various RSL clients
•Complex site acquisition for an RSL from Buccleuch Estates including provisions for buyback and future servitudes and also containing a “Put Option” in relation to Open Space.
