Jonathan is a Senior Associate in Hunters’ Property Rural Land & Business team. He specialises in agricultural & rural property and legal aspects of estate management. Jonathan has accrued expertise & experience in agricultural tenancies; agricultural & equine land use; buying & selling farms and landed estates; sporting and riparian rights; farm/land management issues and agricultural business matters.
Jonathan has a particular interest in family business succession planning. This includes innovative uses of property to create new sources of business & income for family businesses.
Jonathan qualified in 1999 into agricultural law. He has practiced in the North East, East Anglia and latterly London & the South East. He acts for farmers and landowners nationally. He joined Hunters in October 2017.
Jonathan is a Fellow of The Agricultural Law Association. He is a professional member of the National Farmers Union and the Countryside Land & Business Association. He is currently Vice Chairman of Surrey County Agricultural Society, providing other insight and interaction within agriculture.
Jonathan has authored articles in the Farmers’ Guardian; The Farmers’ Club magazine; Lexis Nexis and regional publications. He has presented at local CLA seminars in various regions and at the 2017 National Wood Fuels Conference.
