Jan is a first-chair litigator and former co-chair of the Commercial Litigation Department. She is particularly experienced in advising and defending health care clients and agricultural industries in complex, multidistrict class actions. These cases often have industry-wide implications.
Clients such as major hospitals and health care systems, pharmaceutical manufacturers, insurance companies, and agricultural cooperatives and entities, trust Jan to create and lead effective teams to achieve the best results. Her relationship-building and communication style with co-counsel, plaintiffs’ counsel and the courts contributes to an overall strategy designed to streamline the litigation process and avoid unnecessary wrangling. She has served as court-appointed lead defense liaison in national, multidistrict litigations, and recently secured a full defense verdict in a six week jury trial.
Jan is a graduate of Leadership, Inc., a nonprofit program designed to select and train civil leaders in Philadelphia. She completed the American Health Lawyers Association’s arbitration and advanced mediation training and the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution’s mediation training. Jan is also a graduate of Temple University’s Academy of Advocacy.
