James' expertise and experience spans corporate, restructuring and insolvency, structured finance, employment law, derivatives, banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, Islamic finance and regulatory work.
Previously a partner and head of Ogier's Banking and Finance practice in the Cayman Islands from 1995, James became a consultant in 2015. James is recognised as a leading individual in IFLR 1000 and is regularly highly ranked in other leading legal directories.
James is a vice-president of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association (and council member since 1995), a member of the Caymanian Bar Association and of the Law Society of England and Wales. He is a member of the Financial Services Legislative Review Committee and an external lecturer at the Cayman Islands Law School.
