Career

Hector focuses on dispute resolution (commercial arbitration and litigation). He acts as counsel and arbitrator.

Hector has acted as counsel in cases administered by CCL, PUCP, AMCHAM and in disputes in Peruvian Law Courts. He has also collaborated in legal reports concerning Breach of Contracts, Tort Law, Property, among others.

He has acted as arbitrator in cases administered by CCL and PUCP and is member of the arbitrators panel of the Center for Conflict Analysis and Resolution of the PUCP (CARC-PUCP, in Spanish).

Héctor is recognized for his outstanding arbitration practice by Chambers & Partners Latin American Guide, The Legal 500, Latin Lawyer, among others.

He is also Professor of Private Law (Private Law Institutions, Law of Obligations and Tort Law) and Legal Clinic at PUCP. Is Coordinator of the "Smart Contracts" Research Group attached to PUCP Research, Training and Legal Advice Center (CICAJ PUCP, in Spanish).

He is a member of the Latin America Law Harmonization Group (GADAL, in Spanish), also in the Ibero-American Private Law Association and Researcher registered in the National Council of Science, Technology and Technological Innovation of Peru (CONCYTEC, in Spanish).

He has been a member of the Working Group for updating the Rules Techniques of the Regulation National Buildings appointed by the Housing, Construction and Sanitation Ministry (2023), a counselor of Tort Law at the International Labour Organization (2020-2023) and member of the Working Group Technical Secretariat in charge of formulating improvements to the Peruvian Civil Code appointed by the Justice Ministry (2016-2019).
