Over the last 15 years, Guilherme J. S. Leal has developed an extensive track-record in complex and high-profile environmental matters, mainly in the Oil & Gas, Energy and Mining sectors. He advises foreign and domestic companies in a wide spectrum of environment-related issues, ranging from day-to-day preventive counselling to ESG practices and strategic administrative and judicial disputes. He has also developed a unique expertise in managing environmental crises, advising clients in responding to accidents and disasters of great social, economic and environmental impacts. Academically, he coordinates a post-graduation programme on “Environmental Law and Climate Change” at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, and is adjunct professor in other post-graduation courses offered by that same institution.
