Practice Areas

Consultant in litigation department. Main area of practice is personal injury (with special interest in head and spinal injuries) and medical negligence (with a special interest in birth cases – see Montgomery v Lanarkshire Health Board [2015] UKSC 11). Also handles general commercial (including defamation and professional negligence) and aviation matters. Has extensive experience in major multi-party actions including claims on behalf of 65 relatives of those who died when an RAF Nimrod crashed in Afghanistan which settled for substantial seven figure sums.

Born 1951. Educated at Daniel Stewart's College, Edinburgh 1956-1969 and Edinburgh University 1969-1973. Enjoys golf. Lives in Edinburgh.
