Emma is an Associate Solicitor in Leigh Day’s regulatory and disciplinary team, where she advises and acts for professionals dealing with investigation and prosecution by their regulators. Emma advises across a range of disciplines, including social work and occupational therapy, with particular expertise in solicitors’ discipline, advising individuals and firms subject to investigation or prosecution by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
Emma trained at a legal aid firm in London, joining Leigh Day’s international department as a newly qualified solicitor. For the first five years of her career, Emma acted as a Spanish-speaking solicitor, providing a bilingual service to clients. In 2015 Emma was seconded to work on the defence of the SRA’s investigation and prosecution of Leigh Day. In 2018 Emma co-founded the regulatory and disciplinary team at Leigh Day, to offer a regulatory and professional discipline advice service to clients.
Emma is a member of the Association of Regulatory & Disciplinary Lawyers and the Law Society’s Risk & Compliance division.
Emma co-authors a monthly business ethics column in the Solicitors Journal with teammate, Gideon Habel.
Emma is a champion for LawCare, the charity that promotes and supports good mental health and wellbeing throughout the legal community.
